Changes to English Language Tests and Evidence Exemptions for Subclass 500 Student visa
Legal Instrument IMMI 18/015 commenced on 06 June 2018 and specifies the required levels of English language proficiency. The applicant must satisfy this instrument in order to meet the criteria for the Subclass 500 (Student) visa.
The most important change is that TOEFL Paper-Based (‘TOEFL-PBT’) tests will no longer be acceptable to meet the English language criterion. There are a few exceptions depending on the date the TOEFL-PBT was taken.
